Joan M. Park

Joan M. Park, 89, of Dartmouth, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late James J. and Doris (Swithenback) Park, she lived in Dartmouth since 1970.
She was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church.
Joan had a long and distinguished career as an educator with the New Bedford Public School Department, retiring in 1991 as the Chairperson of the Mathematics Department.
She was a graduate of New Bedford High School, Class of 1952. She went on to receive Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Bridgewater State University and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Wesleyan University in Connecticut.
Joan was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and served as State President. She was also a volunteer in the Pastoral Care Department at St. Luke's Hospital.
She is survived by her beloved cousins, Linda Ross, Dianne Finger, and Tracey Ross-Ramos, and several other cousins and cherished friends.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 24th at 10 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Bridgewater State University Foundation, P.O. Box 42, Bridgewater, MA 02324.
