Joann "Dewie" Dambacher sadly left our world on Saturday, February 23. She was 62. Dewie was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 11, 1962 and attended Archbishop John Carroll High School.
At 15 years old, Dewie had an accident that left her quadriplegic. Despite these challenges, she was an incredible fighter and made the most of every day. Dewie loved the beach and her favorite moments were spent looking at the moon in Stone Harbor.
Family was everything to Dewie. She was welcomed into heaven by her father, William Dambacher, and is survived by her beloved mother, Joann Dambacher. She is also survived by Jim Calla (and wife, Kim Calla); Linda Calla; Lindsey Calla and Jim Calla (and wife, Paige Calla); Lucy Calla and Jack Calla; and her devoted team of nurses and doctors who cared for her.
Dewie will be remembered for her strength, her love, and her sense of humor.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her celebration of life at St. Mary of the Lakes Church on Friday, February 28, 2025 (40 Jackson Rd, Medford, NJ, 08055) at 10:00-11:15am, immediately followed by a memorial mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dewie's name to: Friends of the Burlington County Animal Shelter 3111 Route 38, Suite 11 #238 Mt. Laurel, NJ, 08054 Friendsofbcas.org
