JoAnn DeBuck Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors - Utica from Dec. 18, 2021 to Jan. 4, 2022.
JoAnn DeBuck, of Washington Twp, passed away on December 15th at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, MI at the age of 69. Born in Alexandria, VA on May 12, 1952 to Joseph and Deloris Buckles and sister to Sandra, Carol and Kathleen. JoAnn was a loving wife to Raymond DeBuck Sr. for 42 years and mother to six children, 13 grandchildren and one great-grand child. JoAnn was a remarkable woman who in 1978 married Raymond with each having three kids and built a family on the promise of nothing other than love, partnership, and trust in each other. They moved their 6 kids to Sterling Heights, to start their lives together. In addition to raising 6 young children, JoAnn worked several jobs to contribute financially including temp services, waitress, retail and eventually becoming a school bus driver for Warren Consolidated Schools where she retired. JoAnn was a woman full of life and laughter, with a quick wit and sense of humor who was the life of any party. She was not a woman to shy away from life's pleasures and indulged in delicious foods, spirits, and merriment. Never one to cast the first stone, JoAnn was available to her children and grandchildren without judgement or condensation. She simply offered a safe space and ear for anyone in need. JoAnn is survived by her 5 remaining children and their spouses and (children) - Ray DeBuck Jr and Kennie-Lynn (Kaelyn, Makenna, Genevieve); Jeffrey DeBuck and Sheila (Austin, Andrew, Abrielle); Cynthia and Mike Reager (Madison, Nolan); Eric Nolan and Leisa (Jasper, Violet); James Nolan (Ethan and great grandchild- Aiden). JoAnn will be laid to rest near her late daughter Brenda DeBuck/Moskal (Anthony, Adriana) at Christian Memorial Cemetery West in Rochester Hills, MI. JoAnn's family will receive friends for a memorial gathering on Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 blocks East of Van Dyke), Utica. Please share a memory at www.SullivanFuneralDirectors.com
