On Friday, August 22, 2025, Joann V. Striewig, 86, of Seven Valleys, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was the devoted wife of the late Clarence H. "Red" Striewig, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage before his passing in 2018.
Joann was born on October 8, 1938 in Freeland, MD, to the late Larnid and Romaine (Taylor) Shaffer. She was a 1956 graduate of Hereford High School. An animal lover, Joann took care of numerous species of pets throughout her life. In her spare time, she cherished spending time with her family.
Joann is survived by two children, Stanley O. Striewig and wife Donna, and Sandy E. Bullard and husband John; two grandchildren, Douglas S. Frantz and wife Jill and Jason W. Frantz and wife Joyce; one great-granddaughter, Caitlyn M. Glatfelter and husband Cody; and one sister-in-law Beverly A. Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one sister, Violet Farmer.
A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 27, from 10:00 am until a funeral service begins at 12:00 pm, at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, PA 17327. Interment will follow in Joseph Giesey Cemetery, Shrewsbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Animal Rescue, 2 Heritage Farm Dr., New Freedom, PA 17349 OR the York County SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406.
