Joann F. Vinyard (Gibbins) was born in Pampa, Texas on November 22, 1942, to Jack Gibbins and Evelyn Horton Gibbins. She passed on to greet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 16th, 2025.
Joann met her husband Bruce A. Vinyard July 20, 1956. They were married on September 5, 1959, in Spencer, Oklahoma at that time Joann was a senior in high school and graduated in May 1960 from Jones high School. Of this union 2 children were born, Terry Allen Vinyard and Karla Annette Vinyard.
Bruce preceded her in death in 2016, retired from Oklahoma City Fire Department- after he passed Joann became a member of the Oklahoma retired Firefighters association participating member.
Joann enjoyed her colored pencil drawings and won many awards with her artwork.
She was a devoted Christian that treated others with kindness, she was compassionate, caring, loved with all her heart, loved her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids, her dogs, and many friends and family.
Preceded in death by her husband Bruce A. Vinyard, her father Jack Gibbins, sister Polly Smith, brother in law Gene Smith, in laws Lester and Helen Vinyard, Sister and brother in law Connie and Fred Gardner and brother in law Gilbert Maxey.
Surviving her is her mother Evelyn Gibbins Henry, son- Terry Vinyard and wife April Vinyard, daughter- Karla Briggs, granddaughters- Chelsea Briggs, Cortnea Locke and husband Marcus Locke, Nicole Godwin, and Lindsey Godwin-Wright. Her aunts Bobbie Combs and Alma Wade. Great grandchildren Dallis Locke, Conner Cline, BentLee Locke, Tally Arnold, Jaxton Glover,
Easton Glover, Oaklynn Glover, Deegan Glover, Elias Tafoya, Jazzmyn Miller, Marcus Magee, Caden Magee, Taylor Choate, Alyssa Stephens and Holly Godwin.
On behalf of the family we would like to thank the hospice nurses and team, along with all those who have sent thoughts and prayers for her. The family is asking if you would like to send anything on her behalf to please send a plant, in memory of Joann. She always said, "If you didn't buy me flowers when I was alive, don't buy them for my funeral."
