Joanne Marie Rogers (née Degnan)
February 12, 1947 - October 24, 2025
Joanne Marie Rogers, 78, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. She was born on February 12, 1947, in St. Louis to Bernice and Thomas Degnan and grew up surrounded by strong family ties that shaped who she became: loving, loyal, and full of life.
Joanne built a beautiful life with her husband, Richard, and together they raised their children, Lisa and Richard, in a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the smell of something good cooking. Her kitchen was the center of every family gathering, where recipes were less about measurements and more about love.
Her grandkids, Justin, Carli, Anna, and Abigail, were her pride and joy. She spoiled them in all the best ways, from heaping plates of food to "sneaking" them a twenty-dollar bill just because. When her great-granddaughter Hazel arrived, she proudly stepped into her next role, ready to share the same love and sparkle that had always defined her.
Joanne had a lifelong love of books and was rarely seen without one in her hand. She was quick-witted and always ready with a clever comment or funny remark that could make anyone laugh. She filled her days with reading, cooking, and caring for those around her. She was warm and happy, with just the right touch of spunk. She loved sparkles, and she didn't have to tell you that-you could see it in her eyes, in her clothes, and in the way she made life shimmer a little brighter for everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; her children, Lisa (Steven) and Richard; her grandchildren, Justin, Carli (Adam), Anna, and Abigail; her great-granddaughter, Hazel; and her sisters, Mary Christine and Jacqueline.
Joanne will be remembered for her laughter, her quick wit, her generosity, and the joy she found in the simple things: a good meal, a good book, and time spent with family. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to shine through those who were lucky enough to know her.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12th from 10am until the time of Mass at 11:30am- at Sts. Joachim & Ann Catholic Church. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joanne's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
