Joanne E.M. Tortoriello (nee Mudge) age 76 of Hudson passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025. She was born August 26, 1948 in Stoneham, Massachusetts to the late Edwin and Mary Elizabeth (nee Waterhouse) Mudge. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband Thomas R. Tortoriello. Joanne is survived by her loving daughters, Beth (Michael) Schocker of Livonia, Michigan and Amy (James) Jackson of Brighton, Michigan; three cherished grandchildren, Emily, Dylan and Austin and a dear brother John (Laura) Mudge of Pawling, New York. Joanne was a Professor of Communications at the University of Akron and Miami of Ohio. She was very active at the First Congregational Church of Hudson where she served as a Deaconess and on many committees. She was also an avid bridge and mahjong player and was blessed to form many friendships through these groups. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on July 2, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the First Congregational Church of Hudson, 47 Aurora Street, Hudson, Ohio 44236. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in her memory to the First Congregational Church of Hudson. Arrangements by Busch-Romito Funeral Home of Hudson, www.buschcares.com
