Joe Edward Cruden, Jr., 82, of Rockford, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023. He was born on January 8, 1941, in Savanna, Illinois, the son of Joe Edward (Ruth) Cruden, Sr. Joe married Sherry Mickelson on April 20, 1963. Joe graduated with his Associate degree from Rockford Business School. He began his career at Hydroline as a Technical Services Manager for 20 years. He later worked as a Director of Engineering at Hydroline. He continued his work at Advanced Machine until retirement. Joe was a member at Central Christian Church. He was a big NASCAR fan and spent his time being a part of clubs such as Rockford Hockey club, Computer Club, and the Rockford Ostomy Club.
Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sherry; his sons, Scott (Lori) Cruden and Trevor (Dianna) Cruden; his daughter, Colette (Donald Rasmussen) Cruden, all of Rockford; his grandchildren, Alyssa (Jake) Murphy, Abigail (Blake) Morhardt, Amara (Dallas) Rivera, Elise Cruden, Ivy Cruden, Felicia Cruden, Ashley (Tom) Cloyd and Dustin Rasmussen; his great-grandchildren, Maverik, Nixon, Indy, Macoy, Banner, Bowie, Gretzky, Pearl, Stark, Sophia, Rhea, Maia, and one more on the way; his adopted sister, Darlene Danler, her son Matthew (Holly) Danler and their children Audrey, Sophie and William. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial visitation will be held at 10:00a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023, at Central Christian Church, 6595 Guilford Road, Rockford, IL 61107. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
