DEACON JOE ALTHERTON FAULCON was born to the late Cromwell Faulcon and Ruby L. Battle Faulcon on March 13, 1952, in the Edgecombe Community of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He transitioned from this earthly life to his heavenly home on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at his home in
Littleton, North Carolina, surrounded by his loving family.
During his early years, Joe accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and became a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church in
Littleton, North Carolina. He served as a Deacon, a Trustee, and Treasurer of the church for numerous years.
Joe received his formal education in the Halifax County Public School System and graduated with the class of 1970 from the former McIver High School in
Littleton, North Carolina.
For many years, Joe was employed with various companies. He ended his working career at Cummins, formerly Consolidated Diesel in Whitakers, North Carolina, was proud of his loyal years of service to the company, and retired after ill health became a challenge for him.
Joe met the love of his life, Jane Carolyn Caine, and they were united in marriage on April 13, 1974. God blessed them with two wonderful children, Jeffrey and Kathy.
Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his golf cart, raising animals, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandson, DJ.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Faulcon; one sister, Mamie Faulcon; and two brothers, Cromwell Faulcon, Jr. and James Faulcon.
Those remaining to forever share the treasured memories of his life and the legacy of his love are his loving wife of fifty years, Jane Carolyn Caine Faulcon of the home; his devoted daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Michael Jeffers of
Littleton, NC; his one and only grandson, Devin Jeffers, "Papa's Boy" of
Littleton, NC; his siblings, David Faulcon (Deborah) of
Littleton, NC, Rev. Charles Faulcon (Annie) of Henrico, NC, Mildred F. Robinson, Anna F. Green, and Jeanette F. Harris all of
Littleton, NC, Marvin Faulcon (Tamatha) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Barbara F. Fitts (Calvin) of
Littleton, NC, William Faulcon (Monique) of Richmond, VA, and Georgeanna F. Minggia (Anthony) of
Littleton, NC; two brothers-in-law, Johnnie Caine (Phyllis) of
Littleton, NC, and Robert Caine of Brooklyn, NY; his sister-in-law, Cassandra P. Faulcon of
Littleton, NC; two special nephews, Cortez Caine of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Joseph Lee of
Littleton, NC; a host of nieces and nephews whom he treated as his own, other relatives, and many, many friends who will all miss his earthly presence.
A viewing will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service time at the Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1089 Piney Grove Church Road,
Littleton, NC. The Pastor, Rev. Dr. C. E. McCollum will preside, and Rev. Richard L. Battle will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
