Joe Louis Jones was born on January 10, 1952, to the late Arletha Green Jones & Richard Jones
Joe Louis was born in the rural outskirts of Tallahassee, FL and later moved to Fort Pierce as a young youth. He attended grade school in Saint Lucie County and graduated high school from Lincoln Park Academy in 1969. On October 24, 1975, Joe Louis married his high school sweetheart, Janice Wilder Jones, a union that has been celebrated over the last forty-eight years. A union that also gave birth to their three sons Joey, Jeremiah, and Jonathan Jones.
Joe Louis was a devoted husband, father, and provider often working multiple jobs at once to provide for his family
Joe Louis favorite hobbies included singing, listening to music, billiards, watching boxing and football, or just riding around town with his wife Janice.
Joe Louis was a member of Mount Moriah Primitive Baptist Church of Fort Pierce, FL since childhood and sang in the church choir. He volunteered at the Love Center of Fort Pierce and spoke at many AA organizational meetings. He had a HUGE heart for giving and often fed and provided for those in need.
On August 29, 2024, Joe Louis said goodbye to the cares of this world. He left behind all future plans, dreams, and loved ones because God saw fit to call him home. God gently closed his eyes for eternal rest.
Joe Louis was preceded in death by his mother, Arletha Green Jones and his father, Richard Jones. Brothers: George, Albert, Charles, Richard Jr., Leon, Fred, and Dexter Jones. Sister, Celestine Jones Baker.
He's survived by his wife: Janice Jones; three sons: Joey Jones (Dedra), Jeremiah Jones and Jonathan Jones (Shanna); five sisters: Alberta Jones Crews (Chester), Vera Jones Williams (Frank), Hattie Jones Williams, Shelia Jones, and Erica Jones; two brothers: Jerome Jones (Willie Ann) and Isaac Lee Jones (Andrea); six grandchildren: Jeremiah Jones, Jr., Devyn Jones, Amani Jones, Anicia Walker, Jayden Albert, and Desiree Gomez; a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other family members, and friends.
