Joey LeDoux

Joey LeDoux, 62, of Groves, died Wednesday, March 26, 2025. He was born March 29, 1962, in Port Arthur, to Melba Jo Berry LeDoux and Joseph LeDoux.
Survivors include his sons, Ryan Patrick LeDoux and wife, Abbey; Joseph Camille LeDoux and wife, Sierra; and Adam B. LeDoux and wife, Christy; mother, Melba LeDoux; sister, Belinda Nichols and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Ryker LeDoux, Remy LeDoux, Ellis LeDoux, Beckett LeDoux, Caleb Najera, and Jacob Najera; as well as numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles, especially Katie and Klaudia Nichols.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph LeDoux.
Joey attended St. Catherine's Catholic School and was a 1980 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. His senior year, his best friend, the class President, appointed him class Parliamentarian of the student congress stating, "his faux grouchy personality kept the rowdy group in line."
Joey's best friend, Pat Wood III wrote, "Joey was super handy with tools, guns, hunting and all the stuff I wasn't, so it was always an adventure to play at his house. We collected stamps, rode our bikes all over Groves, threw mud balls on unsuspecting cars, and reveled in the cold air from the window unit in his bedroom. Pat also wrote, "when I went off to summer camp one year, he built me a cool wooden box with some hidden compartments so I had a place to put my stuff. I brought it back there every summer."
Joey was an IBEW #479 journeyman electrician for over ten years. His electrical apprentice wrote, "You showed me more than just being a good electrician. You showed me how not to think just from the beginning but from the end back towards the beginning". Clint also wrote, "I honestly don't think I would be where I am today if I hadn't worked with you those years."
Joey was a Groves National volunteer coach for 15 years or so, coaching numerous boys and leaving lasting memories on most of them. Camille's buddy wrote, "He was a great guy and supported us in our sports and other activities, no matter how rough the love was." Jacob also noted, "I can still see Joey in those high wasted starter shorts, Reebok coaching shoes and a Pepsi in hand."
A gathering of Mr. LeDoux's family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m., with his memorial service at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Broussard's, 505 North 12 Street, Nederland. His cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard's Crematorium, Beaumont.
