John Booth Duncan, born on August 7, 1938, in Calgary, Alberta, passed away in Calgary on September 4, 2025, at the age of 87 years. A devoted family man and a respected member of his community, John lived a life marked by love, service, and dedication.

John joined the Canadian Air Force at a very young age, stationed at Rockcliffe (Ottawa), Sardinia and France. When he left the RCAF, he spent a few years working in various jobs in central-south Alberta and the NWT. In attending Gospel Centre in west Edmonton he met and married Colleen. He completed an apprenticeship in welding and never looked back, going on to work in various positions within the expanding oil industry. He loved learning and reading, having a keen and inquisitive mind. His expertise and commitment to his profession and faith left an indelible mark on friends and colleagues alike. He enjoyed writing, crafts and construction, gardening and animals. He was also actively involved in the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, contributing his time and effort to various local churches, where he nurtured a sense of community and faith among members.

John's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Colleen, and his children: John "Jack", Colin (Connie), Allan (Cherie), and Adele Sevrens (Joseph). His legacy lives on through his nine grandchildren: Caleb, Quinn, Judah, Kaysie, Josie, Hannah, Hope, Florence, and Benjamin. John's unwavering support and unconditional love for his family remain a testament to the man he was.

He is also remembered by his sister, Barbara Habermehl, brothers, Gordon and Larry (Lynette), and sister-in-law, Evelyn Duncan. His family extends to many nieces and nephews, along with extended family and cherished friends.

John was predeceased by his parents, Viola and Allan, his brother Allan, his sister Doreen Freure, and his brother-in-law, Lyle Habermehl.

A memorial service in honor of John's life will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 4:00 PM at the Baptist Seminary (200 Seminary View) in Cochrane, Alberta. A graveside service will take place the following day, Thursday September 18th at 1:00 pm at Crossfield Cemetery. Pastor Joel Turner of Mountain Springs Calvary Chapel officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to The Mustard Seed or Hope Mission.
