John P. Allen, age 85, died November 8, 2024, at his home in Charleston, MO.
Born July 28, 1939, at Anna-Jonesboro, IL, to the late Frank Everett Allen and Mary Helen Clardy Allen, after high school he attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale where he studied Construction and Pre-engineering. John held many positions through his life including- E-3 electrician, wiring fighter planes for the United States Air Force, an engineer for the railroad and also construction superintendent and project manager for McCarthy Brothers and the K-Mart Corporation. For many years he owned Majestic Home Builders in Topeka, KS and then retired from KC Builders in 2003. In 2015, he moved to Charleston.
John married Debra J. Green Allen, and she survives of the home.
Also surviving is his daughter, Brenda Renee Allen of Anna, IL, his son, John David Allen of St. Augustine, FL and two grandchildren, Rachel and Rowan.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 11, 2024, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, MO. His brother-in-law, the Rev. David McLucas, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston, will officiate.
Graveside services will follow at 3:30 p.m. Monday afternoon at the Thomas Cemetery near Norwood, MO.
