John Franklin Atkinson, Jr.,75, a man who came to know that love is the most important thing in life, died suddenly and unexpectedly on approximately August 10, 2022.
Though their partnership began 31 years ago, John was devoted husband to Joanne Brantley Atkinson since 2003. He was beloved father of Amy Ruth Rada, Sherry Lynne Atkinson, and John Thomas Atkinson, III; Grandad to Kary, Ben, Aislinn, and Sam; cherished brother to Faye Atkinson Snow and dear brother-in-law to Dr. Paul Snow.
Visitation will be held at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, MD on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, from 12:00-1:00 PM. A short service will begin at 1:00, followed immediately by a procession to Hinkle-Snow private cemetery for the interment.
