John J. Auer, 73, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Thursday October 9,2025. Born in Green Brook, NJ, John spent 30+ years living in Dallas, TX, before moving back to New Jersey in 2005. John graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Missouri Valley College, where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. John had a successful career in sales and a late career as a golf tech with Dick's Sporting Goods. John was a member of St. Theresa’s Church in Little Egg Harbor and loved living at the shore. He enjoyed spending time with his family and lifelong friends, golfing, going to the beach at 15th St. in Ship Bottom, walking his niece's dogs in the woods, and was an avid NY Giants fan.
John was predeceased by his parents John and Edith Auer, brother Thomas Auer, and sister Carol Ann Ambrose.
He is survived by his sister Kathleen Barneman of Little Egg Harbor, nieces and nephews Matthew Thompson, Catherine Evans, April Purtell, Deborah Sundermann, Heather Thompson, Cliff Barneman, and Christina Venezia, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Cremation will be private. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday October 18,2025 at 10am at St. Theresa’s Church, 450 Radio Rd, Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087.
