John Backus Obituary
John was born in York, PA on December 30, 1940 and was the son of the late Albert and Sarah (Eckert) Backus. He was a welder for Mack Truck for over 25 years and enjoyed spending his free time hunting, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors. John was also a member of the Vigilant Social Club and the Moose Lodge in Delaware.
In addition to his loving wife Diana, John is survived by his son Todd Backus (Joseph Bratkowski). He was preceded in death by his brother Harry Backus.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's viewing on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of East York, 3670 E. Market St., York, PA 17402. Services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
