John W. Barber, 73 years old from Lambertville, MI, passed away on August 19, 2024 at The Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was always supporting his children and grandchildren in their sports and events, no matter the location. John spent most of his free time volunteering for numerous events such as with the Bedford Band Boosters, Mule Muscle, and bingo at the church. John retired from Mental Health & Recovery Services of Lucas County in Toledo, Ohio as Director of Finance for 10 years of his career. Previously, he spent 19 years at La Z Boy Corp offices as Director of Auditing. He also served the community at Coldwater, MI as a Police Officer.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, 7 months & 4 days, Christine (Mordenski) Barber; children, Jeffery (Heather) Barber; Stacey (Rusty) Wilke; grandchildren, Brandon (Allyson) Sunday, Hannah (Corey) Wahl, Makenna (Zachary Warnke) Wilke, Kevin, Paige, Coryn, Bridget Barber, and great granddaughter, Blake Wahl. He is also survived by his sister, Jean (Shannon) Powers and in-laws Jane (Rusty Adams) Frank and John Mordenski.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm, Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 am for John on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic church located at 8330 Lewis Ave Temperance MI 48182, where visitation will be from held from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
