John Bellamy, 84, of Bacliff, went home to be with the Lord on August 8, 2025. He peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home surrounded by loved ones.

John was born on September 8, 1940, in Augusta County, Virginia, to Harry and Sally Herron Bellamy. His family later moved to Kingsport, Tennessee. In 1961, he joined the Navy. On August 28, 1962, John married his sweetheart, Nancy Kennedy (affectionately known as "Snook"). John and Nancy would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on August 28, 2025.

A devoted husband and father, John and Nancy were blessed with three children: Johnny, Ricky, and Lisa. In 1977, the family relocated from Tennessee to Texas. John began working for Southwest Chemicals in 1979 and retired from the company in 1999. He was also a dedicated member of Victory Baptist Church in Bacliff, where he faithfully served the Lord for many years.

John had a special place in his heart for children. When his eight grandchildren came along, he delighted in spoiling them and soon became known as "Pawpaw" to many. Later, he and Nancy were blessed with 12 great-grandchildren, whom they also loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Sally Bellamy; his sister, Marazina Kirkfield; his brother, George Bellamy; his son, Rick Bellamy; his son-in-law, Jacky Kelly; and his grandson, Jonathan Kelly.

John is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Nancy Bellamy; his son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Stella Bellamy; his daughter, Lisa Kelly; his daughter-in-law, Bobbie Bellamy; his sisters, Helen Crank and Mary Kate Clark; his grandchildren, Leslie Kelly, Heather Abraham, Amber Bryant, Emily Morris, Kimberly Breaux, Rebecca Alvarez, and Samantha Zengerle; and his great-grandchildren, Evie Schraer and Olivia Smith, Chloe and Kinlee Breaux, Kenneth Wayne and Sophia Bryant, Jaxson and Liam Zengerle, Mollie Mae and Annie Kay Morris, and Braxley and Leonidas Alvarez.

A memorial service celebrating John's life will be held at First Love Church in Texas City on August 23, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
