John Kenneth Cook, 72, passed on Friday, July 18, 2025, at his Corydon, Indiana, home. Born in Jeffersonville, Indiana, on May 30, 1953, he was the son of the late Ernest E. Cook and Sara Elizabeth Colvin.

John was a devout member of the Pentecostal First Assembly of God Church in Madison, Indiana. He worked for Commodity Trucking and Rollway Express and was a dedicated 38-year member of Teamsters Local 89 of Louisville. John was an ordained minister. He was also a member of the NRA. He was a longtime volunteer fireman at Utica Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Cook, his son Justin Cook, his sisters Martha Carpenter, Darlene Colvin, Mary Bee Bowman and Audrey Harralson, his brothers Benny Cook, Wilson Cook, Thomas C. Cook and his parents.

John is survived by his step- sons Jodie and James Leady of Jeffersonville, Indiana; sisters Carrie Rose of Louisville, Kentucky, and Patricia Rife of Chiefland, Florida. He also leaves behind 16 nieces and 8 nephews. He is survived by many great nieces & nephews and many, many great-great nieces & nephews

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at E.M. Coots' Sons Funeral Home, with burial at Utica Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
