John was born in Salt Lake City, UT on March 5, 1962 to Spencer H. and Geraldine S. Curtis. He grew up in Salt Lake City and Sandy, UT with a large family of 17 children. He attended and played football at Hillcrest and Jordan High Schools. Tracy was always an adventurous dare devil and really loved to go downhill fast.
Tracy met his beloved wife, Judy Lucero, in 1978. They were married May 23, 1981 and spent 42 years together, loving each other. Some of their favorite activities were sneaking off together and going to the beach, taking long rides together on Tracy's motorcycle, and cuddling up to watch TV. They had 3 children: Jeffrey, Johnathan, and Whitney Curtis. Over the years their family grew to include 5 grandchildren: Gage, Gunner, and Gatlin Curtis, Tevan Bisby, and Roxy Ruiz. Tracy loved his family and received lots of enjoyment from watching his boys play football and then his grandsons too. He was their biggest fan.
Tracy was an expert shoemaker and worked many years repairing shoes. He spent some time at Alders installing doors. He later went on to work at Romaine Electric. He enjoyed the years he spent in each of his professions and appreciated all of the caring people he worked with and friendships along the way.
Tracy was a chef in his own right. He enjoyed cooking and smoking yummy food, which usually came with a nice kick. He was an avid Judas Priest fan, attending many concerts over the years. He was a dedicated Green Bay Packers fan (GO CHEESEHEADS!!!). He was an undeniable party animal and liked to joke around. In the evenings he loved to watch old western movies. If he could, Tracy would ride his motorcycle every day. He had fond memories of Sturgis and was a "Ride or Die" biker for sure.
Tracy cherished his lifelong friendships and good times with Sam and Gary, as well as the close connections he had in the family. He was a big guy with a very soft spot for his fur babies. He enjoyed taking the dogs for rides and spoiled them with treats. Bosco liked putting on his goggles and riding on the motorcycle with his dad.
Tracy was preceded in death by his loving parents, Spencer H. and Geraldine S. Curtis; sisters, Kathleen Crawford and Jennifer Rogers; brothers, Jim Curtis, Michael Crawford, and Bruce Curtis.
Survived by Wife, Judy Curtis; children, Jeffrey (Jamie), Johnathan, and Whitney Curtis, his grandchildren Gage, Gunner, & Gatlin Curtis, Tevan Bisby, Roxy Ruiz; Mother-in-law Juanita Lucero; Siblings Russell Curtis, Thomas Crawford, Shierly Crawford, Becky Lieshman, Christine Allgood, Richard Curtis, Patricia Ostler, David Curtis, Cassandra Brandeberry, Angela Curtis, and Malisa Curtis.

John will be very much missed here at Romaine Electric. Although I did not interact with him on a regular basis, he was always courteous and friendly when I did. I know he was a great addition to our Salt Lake location, and that he was well-liked by coworkers and customers alike. My condolences and sympathy to his wife, family, and many friends. RIP.

To the Curtis Family,
In the short time that I knew John I found out very soon how caring he was and how he expressed concern for others. John will be dearly missed as a friend & work associate. You made your mark and impacted many lives. May your family be comforted during these difficult days and that they will find peace in the legacy that you left. God be you my good friend.
