My father and I shared many wonderful times together, he and I loved going to fish the Millburn reservoir, it was there we would catch large mouth bass, sun fish, perch, and his least favorite-the cat fish. My Dad was extremely allergic to bee stings and any type of insect that would produce venom. He was always careful removing the cat fish with the long spiny whiskers, many times he would just use plyers from his favorite tackle box or just his shoe, The Millburn PD knew and loved my father, many of the officers would recognize his little green volkswagen and would leave it alone, all others left with flat tires. Many of the guys would walk over the hill to the other side just to say hello to my dad, they would always shout out- hey John did you catch anything? he would always say just a couple. My father and I shared many great talks and shared many conversations together when we were there, he was always quick to help me remove the fish off the hook and showed me how to remove the hook without losing the worm. once we would arrive to our house he would show me how to gut and scale the fish before they were placed on the grill. We would always clean the fish in the exact same spot toward the back of our house, the hose was close by and it was easy for him to clean the area. Dad remember I'm just around the corner, I love you and will always miss our talks together
