John William Duffey, "Johnny Bill", passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 17, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on September 18, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio, John was the cherished son of John and Madelyn (Clark) Duffey.

A proud 1970 graduate of London High School, he went on to build a life marked by hard work and a generous spirit. John dedicated much of his career to serving his community. He began his journey as a contractor for the Army Corps of Engineers before making impactful contributions at the Madison County Engineer's office. He later ran his own heating and cooling business and proudly retired after many fulfilling years as an Air Quality Technician at Madison Correctional Institute.

Throughout his life, John cherished simplicity. Just like his mom, he found great joy in sitting on his front porch, engaging in laughter with family and friends. His love for cooking brought people together, while his unwavering support for the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes was a source of camaraderie. Most importantly, John loved his family and always took special care of his son Seth.

John is survived by his children Shane, Seth, Eli (Jennifer), and Sarah, along with his siblings Scott (Debbie) Duffey, Lin Duffey, and Tim (Andi McSeveney) Duffey. He leaves behind cherished grandchildren Carrick, Kaelan, Nora, Zalen (Stevie), and Jozlyn, as well as a great-grandson, John. He is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, his wife Vickie, and his sister-in-law Jan Duffey.

In accordance with John's wishes, there will be no services at this time. His family invites all who knew and loved John to reflect on their cherished memories and honor his spirit in their own, meaningful ways. John’s legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
