John J. Fischer, 81, of Oostburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center – Sheboygan County.
John was born on June 23, 1943, to George and Arlene (Smith) Fischer in Plymouth. He graduated from Plymouth High School. On August 12, 1992, he was united in marriage to Laurel Lensink Kanz.
John loved all things outdoors, trap shooting, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed his motorcycle in his younger years. He was employed at Simplicity for 40 years until his retirement. John was a loving, gentle, and caring husband, dad, and grandpa with the best sense of humor.
John is survived by his wife, Laurel; children, Dawn (Flash) Fischer, Jean Buell, Jason (Heather) Kanz; grandchildren, Kassie Ramos, Ricki (Jose) Ramos, Dylan (Cortney) Maas, Kristine Maas, Colton (Maddy) Buell, Grace (Jon) Risen, Alex Kanz, Tessa Kanz; 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way. He is further survived by his brother, George (Pat) Fischer Jr.; sisters-in-law, Ann Lammers, Mary Thuene, Sandy VanStelle, Lana Lensink, Joanne Lensink, Sue Lensink; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Sandra Burt, Sharon Hand, Kenneth Meyer Jr.; brothers-in-law Bill Lensink, Dan Lensink, Mark Lensink, Paul Lensink, Jerry Lammers, Keith Ten Haken, Warren Thuene, John VanStelle.
Private services will be held.
