John M. Fox Jr.

John Fox, Jr., originally of Philadelphia, PA and now of North Cape May, NJ passed away on May 12th at the age of 80. He was the beloved husband of 28 years of Ann Fox (nee Gillespie), devoted father of John Fox, III (Jackie), Sharon Gillespie (Mike), and Lisa DelColombo (Fran); loving grandfather of Emily, Rachel, Tarah, Michael, Patrick, Melissa, and Anthony; loving great grandfather of Thomas and Eamonn; and brother of Joe, and Geri Kelly, John will be greatly missed by step-daughter JoAnn Sullivan; step-sons John Dougherty and Brian Dougherty; in-laws Edward Gillespie, and Marian Gillespie; and close friends Elaine Bono and Hugh Clauhs. John is predeceased by his parents John and Dorothy Fox, and his sister Patsy Helm.
John was born and raised in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, and attended Frankford High School. He went on to work professionally as a truck driver for Teamsters Local 107 for 33 years. After which, he retired to North Cape May with his wife Ann. John enjoyed going to the casinos in Atlantic City. He also enjoyed having his morning coffee watching the ferry come in. He was incredibly hands-on, and was always there when you needed help with any project. Most of all, John was a devoted family man, and was at his happiest when he was with the ones he loved.
Family and friends are invited to John's Life Celebration on Tuesday, May 23rd at St. Katherine of Siena Church, 9700 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19114, from 9:30 – 10:30 AM. A funeral mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gift of Life Howie House, 401 Callowhill St, Philadelphia, PA 19123.
