John Gross Obituary
John Edward Gross, 72, passed away peacefully at his home in Louisville, Kentucky, surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Born on February 17, 1953, in Louisville, John was the son of John and Wanda Gross.
A dedicated and hardworking man, John spent over 47 years at Metal Sales Manufacturing, where he proudly honed his craft and made lifelong friendships. His commitment to his work was only matched by his unwavering devotion to his family. John was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who always put his loved ones first. His family meant everything to him, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
John was a man of simple pleasures. He took great pride in his home, often found tinkering with cars in the garage or ensuring his yard was immaculate. Though not one for many words, John’s quiet nature and sense of humor shone through in his actions, always ready to lend a hand or bring a smile to those around him. His calm demeanor and willingness to be whatever was needed in any given moment made him a constant and steadfast presence in the lives of his family and friends.
In his spare time, John enjoyed spending time at home and was actively involved in coaching his children's sports teams. Though he was a man of few words, his love for his family spoke volumes through his actions. John’s legacy will live on in the memories of all who knew and loved him.
John is preceded in death by his parents, John Gross and Wanda Turner Gross; and a daughter, Stefanie Lafon.
Left to cherish his memory, John is survived by his wife, Patricia Gross; 2 children, Jim Gross (Ashleigh) and Jennifer Sarver (Joey); 3 grandchildren, Maddux Edward Gross, Ruby Jane Gross, and Liam Robert Sarver; and a host of extended family and close friends.
A memorial service for Mr. John Gross will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home West, 4400 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, Kentucky. Memorial Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service.
