John W. Hadfield Jr.

FULLERVILLE- John W. Hadfield Jr., age 83, of Fullerville, NY passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Gouverneur Hospital with his family by his side.

John was born on October 1, 1942 in Gouverneur, NY to the late John and Jean (Brown) Hadfield. He graduated from Gouverneur Central School in 1960 and then entered into the United States Marine Corp and served until his honorable discharge in 1964.
On October 17, 1964, he married Betty M. Baker at the Gouverneur United Methodist Church. He worked at the Natural Dam Paper Mill and then went to work at International Talc and then Gouverneur Talc until he retired. In his free time, John enjoyed hunting, fishing and just being outdoors. He also loved spending time on his land on the Oswegatchie River.
Surviving is his wife, Betty; their four children, Kenneth and Melissa Hadfield of Russell, John Hadfield III of Fullerville, Sandra and Frank Bango of Harrisville and Elizabeth "Liz" and Joe Johnson of Utah; two brothers, Edwin and Robert Hadfield and six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
John is predeceased by his parents; a sister, Alice Tyler and two brothers, Abe and Thomas Hadfield.
