Hart – John Daniel "Rebel" Hart, Sr., age 57, of Macclenny, Florida passed away on April 2, 2024, at his residence with his loving family by his side. John was born in Green Cove Springs, Florida on August 27, 1966, to the late Leon Hart and Dorothy Nowlen Hart. He was raised in Whitehouse and moved to Baker County after middle school. John enjoyed a long successful career as a Rod Buster specializing in concrete reinforcing ironwork. He was a longtime member of the local Iron Workers Union 597 in Jacksonville and recently resigned from Vallencourt Construction due to health issues. John had a good heart and was known for his kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand. He was family-oriented and loved spending time with family and friends. John enjoyed organizing his yard sales as well as hunting and fishing. John loved his country and was proud of his Southern Heritage. John flew his Confederate flag with honor and wore his Confederate colors daily. He was a true treasure, will be greatly missed, and was deeply loved. John was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Lee Wilson and Debra Hart.
John is survived by his son, J.D. Hart, II of Macclenny, FL; grandson, John Hart, III; brothers, Mike West of Jacksonville, FL and Leon (Beth) Hart of Middleburg, FL; along with several extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of John's Life will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 3:30 pm at V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in the near future. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
