John J. (Jack) Holmes, age 75, born in Chicago to John and Mary (McShea)Holmes. Beloved brother of William (Margaret) and the late Baby Margaret, in 1952. Cherished uncle of Bridget (Dan) Fanelli, John Holmes, Meaghan (Dennis) Nolan, Elizabeth (Kevin) Moran, Brian Holmes, Mary Holmes, Catherine (Sean) O'Malley, and Kevin Holmes; Proud great uncle of James (Katey), Henry, George, Arthur, Charlie, Maggie, Liam, Marty, and Nora. John served in Viet Nam and was a Purple Heart recipient and a dedicated employee of the City of Chicago, Department of Aviation. Visitation Thursday May 23, 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Chapel Prayers and Military Honors at 7:30 p.m. at Curley Funeral Home, 6116 W. 111th Street, Chicago Ridge; Interment Private; In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations to Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Holmes - you will truly be missed. Thanks for sharing all those wonderful War stories with me- I would love to hear again , how you gain your PURPLE HEART- and jumping off the hummer ....
