Skip passed away on October 25, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Dolores, his brother Mark, and beloved life partner of 30 years, Deborah Darlene Gunter.
He is survived by his son, Jean-Paul Miles (Rachel), sisters Karen J. White (Kendall), Jennifer J. Dennies (Mike), and Elizabeth J. Lanier (the late Shelby).
Skippy, as he was called by all who knew him, grew up in Gretna, Louisiana and attended West Jefferson High School. His early years were spent hunting with friends and fishing with his grandfather in the Rigolets. He was a gifted mechanic who was sought after to fix many tugboat engines. He worked most of his years for Daily Equipment in Biloxi, Mississippi. He loved living the simple country life on his property with Debbie. He was a good cook, eager to share his home-grown vegetables and meals with neighbors and extended family. He raised numerous animals (including his loyal pup, Mousey) and enjoyed feeding the deer right outside the door. His laid back, gruff, and somewhat humorous demeanor will always be remembered.
As per Skip's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Jaycox family in their time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
