John "Jack" Kane of Portsmouth passed away on May 4, 2025, at the age of 77.
He was the son of Shirley Babineau Kane and John E. Kane. Jack was married for 50 years to his beloved wife, Sandra (Pelchat) Kane. He was a graduate of Portsmouth High School and the University of New Hampshire, and a U.S. Army veteran.
Jack was a former restaurant owner in Portsmouth and had a long career in the food service industry. He had a deep love for Shelties, raising ten over his lifetime. Jack enjoyed picture framing, swimming, and studying history. His passion for picture framing began as a hobby, and he eventually became skilled enough to make custom frames for friends and family. Known for his sociable nature and enduring friendships, he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; his sister Shirley Kane, and several nieces and nephews.

I'm so sorry to hear this news. Jack was a great guy and good friend . How can we forget the famous Rays Kane...a local neighborhood pub that he and Kirk Miller ran some years ago. May Jack RIP.
