John Kehoe of Hillsborough, age 83, died peacefully at the Center for Hope Hospice on October 24, 2025 after a serious fall that incapacitated him.
Born in 1942, John was the cherished son of John and Doris Kehoe, who predeceased him. Growing up in Jersey City, John was raised in a loving extended family who all lived within blocks of each other.
He married his dear wife Eleanor in 1964 and they lived happily in their “mountain” at Hillsborough until she predeceased him in 2012.
He received his Bachelor and Master’s degrees from Rutgers University and worked in research his entire life, first in the Research Center at Colgate Palmolive and then as Director of the Surgical Research Laboratories at UMDNJ/RWJ Medical School Dept of Surgery.
John was gifted in so many ways and shared those gifts generously. He was a problem solver with great technical skills who could fix anything and solve any difficulty. Everyone who knew him “called John.”
He loved his Sourland Mountains, his family and friends and his many beloved rescue dogs.
He is survived by his sister Marianne Kehoe and many cousins and dear, dear friends.
