LaVale, MD – John "Jack" Anderson Kreiling, Jr., 91, of LaVale, MD, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born November 12, 1931, in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Kreiling was the son of the late John Anderson Kreiling, Sr. and Erma (Close) Kreiling. He was also preceded in death by his first wife: Lenora Kreiling; his second wife: Betty Kreiling; his brother: James P. Kreiling; and his sister: Helen Mae Watson. Jack was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Jack was a graduate of Allegany High School and a U.S. Naval Veteran during the Korean War. In 1963, he opened KMK Insurance Agency, where he was the principal agent and worked until his retirement. Jack was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church and attended Memorial Heights Baptist Church. He was a member of Gideon International. Jack loved to travel and spend time with his family and friends.
Jack is survived by his daughter: Linda Kreiling Koch and husband, Stuart; his son: Dave Kreiling; his grandchildren: Renee Embrey and husband, Lee, Shane Kreiling and wife, Amanda, Chad Kreiling; and Paige Hawkins and husband, Kyle; his great grandchildren: Jaxon and Maddox; his cousins: Cindy Weaver, Beth Meller and Kim Owens; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and furbabies.
A funeral service will be held at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Monday, April 17, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
Interment will be in Maryland Veterans' Cemetery at Rocky Gap. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cornerstone Baptist Church 930 Frederick St., Cumberland, MD 21502.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the 3rd floor staff at Allegany Health and Rehabilitation Center for all the care and compassion given.
