John Clifford Krueger
August 23, 1943 – June 15, 2024
John C. Krueger, age 80, of Monroe, was welcomed home on Saturday, June 15, 2024.
Born on August 23, 1943 to Clifford and Anna (Eckert) Krueger, John was one of three children. He attended Monroe Catholic Central High School and graduated with the class of 1961. Soon, he went off to serve his country in the US Army National Guard.
Afterwards, he met the love of his life, Rose Germani, working at Micka's Market. John was working as a Meat Cutter in the Deli, and she was a Cashier. Soon, they married one another on October 15, 1966 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Together, John and Rose had two sons, Geoff and Brian. John and Rose were looking forward to celebrating their 60th anniversary.
After leaving Micka's Market, he worked at Mignano's for 18 years, then at Food Town for 15, where he retired from.
In his later years, John loved attending and participating in various classic car shows. He had one of his own, which he was very proud of. He owned a 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle. John was a part of the Good Time Cruisers Car Club. He also enjoyed using amateur radio, with his call sign being WD8QKJ. In addition, John was a longstanding member of St. Joe's Catholic Church.
To cherish his memory, John leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Rose; two sons, Geoff (Sandy) Krueger and Brian (Amy) Krueger, and one brother, Randy (Peggy) Krueger.
Friends and Family are invited to a visitation on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Rupp Funeral Home from 2 to 8 PM. A service will follow on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Rupp Funeral Home starting at 11 AM. Reverend Larry Detruf will officiate. Burial will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
