John T. "Jack" Liebsch, age 91, of West Chester, PA, passed away on August 18, 2025.
Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1934, he was the son of the late Joseph and Alice (nee Meaney) Liebsch.
After high school, John served honorably in the US Army. John was most proud of his service as a Military Police Officer and stationed at the Raven Rock Mountain Complex, Pennsylvania. After his service, John enjoyed a career in insurance and as a paralegal.
John was married to the love of his life Marie for 67 years and affectionately referred to her as “Darlo”. He spent most of his life with his large family of 6 children, 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was known for sharing his life stories to family and friends (or anyone else he could find) which often began with “Have I ever told you about …”. John was also known for offering up a share of his kingdom for a beer, the size of the share of course depended on his generosity on any given day!
John was the beloved husband of Marie A. (nee Gentry) Liebsch; loving father of Marie Orme (Ray), John R. Liebsch (Nancy), Thomas Liebsch (Joyce), Gerald Liebsch (Karen), Patricia Tyler (Andrew), and Kevin Liebsch (Lisa); caring grandfather of Kaitlyn, Alison, Michaela, John, Kathleen, Timothy, James, Evan, Michael, Brian, Daniel, Anna, Lilya, Katya, Nathaniel, Griffin, and Michael and great-grandfather of Richard, Wesley, Grace, Hannah, Colin, Holden, Lane, Vivian and Celeste; dear brother of Alice McMenamin (the late Eugene) and Joan Kilpatrick (the late Harry) and brother-in-law of Helen Liebsch; predeceased by his brothers, Joseph Liebsch, Robert Liebsch (the late Germaine), and Donald Liebsch.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10:30-11:30 AM Thursday August 28th at SS Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM. Interment St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, Glen Mills.
