John V. Marczak age 79, of Glenwood City, WI passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.
He was born October 12, 1945 in Ivanhoe, MN to Walter and Florence (Christensen) Marczak. He grew up in Ivanhoe, MN and graduated from Ivanhoe High School in 1963.
John met his wife, Darlene Gundlach (Boyceville, WI) in St. Paul, MN and were married on February 6, 1965 at the Catholic Cathedral in St. Paul, MN. They had their first daughter Wendy, and moved to Illinois where he worked at John Deere, then moved to Hartford, WI where he worked at Chrysler. John and his family later moved to Boyceville, WI where they had their second daughter Becky, and then settled in Glenwood City, WI where they had their third baby girl, Angie.
John was a great husband and father who loved his three girls. John worked at Andersen Windows in Bayport, MN for many years and later retired from there. He was a member of the Andersen Windows Quarter Century Club.
John enjoyed many hobbies. He had a passion for inventing things. John would take a machine or piece of equipment and make modifications or even redesign it to improve the function and versatility. He loved his gadgets!
John made many memories camping with his family over the years. He later bought a cabin on Beaver Dam Lake in Cumberland. He loved spending time relaxing at the cabin, having his family and friends come there to visit, along with fishing and traveling with his wife. They would go from lake to lake and visit their favorite restaurants while enjoying the scenery driving on all of the backroads. John loved listening to the golden oldie's music from the 50s and 60s. He had a boombox in just about every room and would take pleasure in having his daughters stand on his feet to dance with him when they were little. John thoroughly cherished the moments he spent with his daughters and their significant others, his grandkids, his great grand-child and friends that stopped in to visit.
John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Darlene of Glenwood City, three daughters Wendy Marczak of Minneapolis, Becky (Barron) Hoff of Shoreview and Angie Marczak (Brian Moe) of Glenwood City; grandchildren Brandi Jewell and Billy Jewell; great granddaughter Freya, brother David Marczak and sister Rosemary "Tiny" Peltier.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Florence, two brothers Daniel and Roger, four sisters Vivian, Ruth, Marjorie and Marilyn.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2025 at Sherman Cemetery in the township of Sherman, Dunn County. There will be a visitation after the burial from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with food at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie.
