John Ford McWilliams, Jr., age 80, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, following a brief illness. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30th, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be private.
A lifelong resident of Shreveport, Louisiana, Ford was deeply rooted in his community and in the law. He was a proud graduate of C.E. Byrd High School, Louisiana Tech University, and LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center. For 55 years, he was a respected member of the Louisiana Bar Association.
Throughout his career, Ford served on countless boards, coauthored important legislation-including the notable Justin's Law-and earned a reputation for wisdom, fairness, and integrity. He will be remembered as a dedicated advocate for justice, but he was most passionate about restoring motorcycles and classic cars with his best friends. He found his joy in both the courtroom and the garage.
Ford was preceded in death by his parents, Manie Moss Dixey and John Ford McWilliams, Sr.; his son, John Adam McWilliams; and his sister, Mary Elise McWilliams, M.D.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Francine "Cina" McWilliams; his children, Michael McWilliams, Nikki McWilliams, Robert May and fiancé Heidi, Sarah and Tracy Toups; and his stepchildren, Jennifer and Brian Crowder, George Hodges, and Megan and Marshall Good. Ford was the proud grandfather of Maggie and Brooklynn McWilliams, Makenzi McWilliams, Tyler and Drew Spivey, Blake and Emily Byas, Brody Hodges, James and George Crowder, Corbin May, and Scott and Samuel Toups; and great-grandfather to Hosston Byas and one on the way, Banks Guidry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Scott, Bill Shipp, JJ Williams, Michael McWilliams, Robert May, and George Hodges.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Robinson's Rescue.
