John Victor Naiser

NAISER, JOHN VICTOR, Age 93, of Louisville, KY died December 5, 2024 peacefully at Baptist East Hospital. Born in Louisville to Nick and Nazha Naiser, John was the devoted husband of Barbara; loving father of John D. Naiser (Robin), Steve Naiser (Kelley), and Joni Soroka (Fr. Thomas); grandfather of Catherine (David Alexander) and Taylor Naiser, Corey and Sophia Naiser, Melanie, Jacqueline, and Natalie Soroka, and Jack, Hadley and Charlotte Carpenter; and great grandfather of Otto and Enzo Naiser. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Barbara and their beloved dog Snickers, his parents, his five brothers and sisters, and by his grandson Conner Naiser. John was a lifelong member of St. Michael Antiochian Orthodox Church.
John began a life of serving others at an early age. Upon the untimely death of his father, John and his eldest brother George helped provide for the family by operating his father's bar in downtown Louisville – Nick's Big Six. After college, John began his career as a chiropractor. Shortly after he and Barbara started a family, he left chiropractic practice and worked for Ford Motor Co. and Gateway Distributing before beginning a long career operating air freight delivery businesses Naiser Expediting and Bel-Air Expediting. Despite working long hours running his business, John was present and loyal to his family, never failing to attend his kids' sporting events, take the family on vacation, or awaken his kids for a 4:00 a.m. weekend fishing expedition. He was known to everyone for his kind and gentle demeanor, his quick laugh, and his giving heart. Up until his death, he parted nearly every interaction with "Is there anything I can help you with?"
The family wishes to convey their most heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff and residents at Holy Trinity Apartments, John's church family at St. Michael, and especially to his loving caregivers Stephanie and Toya Ferguson, Latricia Stafford, and Mercy Togunde.
Visitation will be held at St. Michael Antiochian Orthodox Church on Hikes Lane from 4:00pm-7:00pm Friday, December 13th. Funeral will be held at St. Michael Antiochian Orthodox Church at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14th with burial following at Resthaven. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Michael Antiochian Orthodox Church, 3701 Saint Michael Church Drive, Louisville KY 40220.
