John Nix Obituary

John had a passion for fishing on Lake Michigan and enjoyed bowling with his friends. He loved traveling across the country with his friend, Bob, assisting him in maintaining his racing motorcycles.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara, his brother Joe and sister-in-law Kathy, his niece Abigail, and nephew Andrew. He also leaves behind his uncles John and Jean Frana, Jerry and Linda Frana, Leonard and Margie Nix, and his cousins John and Faith Frana, Jeff and Mai Frana, and Jeremiah and Siwen.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in John's name to a charity of your choice. Funeral care is provided by G.L. Hills Funeral Home and Cremation Center. John will be so missed. John was my student at Terrace School many years ago and as luck would have it we moved in after retirement right next door to his mom, Barb. As sweet and gentle as he was as a young boy was what he was as an adult. We loved hearing about his joy for bowling. He so enjoyed his Sunday bowling with his family. Our hearts ache for Barb, Joe and his family. With John's passing a little piece of all our hearts went with him.

John was the nicest guy I bold with him at River Rand bowl. Back then he had a lot of health problems and did not let that stop him. He will be missed.
