John Richard Ogden, 52, was called home on July 27th, 2025, at the Meramec Springs Country Store and RV Park in St. James, Missouri.
John was born in Lapeer, Michigan to Richard Ogden and the late Patricia (nee Radloff) Mitchell.
He graduated from Yale High, Class of 1991 and went on to drive a truck for Schneider. After he retired, he spent his time helping those in need and volunteering at a homeless shelter in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
John loved to "roam," the only way to soothe his wanderlust was the waters of the Great Lakes. Often, he expressed he was "at peace," near the water. He loved collectibles and had a specific appreciation for model trains and Hot Wheels. You would always find him listening to Johnny Cash and other classic country artists. John was known for his unique humor, love for animals, kind heart, and admiration for his daughter, Madison. He truly was a gentle giant, who will be deeply missed by many.
He is survived by his daughter, Madison Ogden and stepdaughter, Alexandra Kleinschmidt; father, Richard Ogden and stepmother Shirley Ogden; sisters, Carol Ogden, Sandra (Sandy) Dombrowski; and brother, William (Bill) Ogden. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Mitchell (Radloff).
The family honors the memory of John and invites you to visit and share memories Saturday, September 13, 2025, for a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 109 E. Kempf Court, Capac, MI.
