John M. Parks, 80, of Garnet Valley, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
He was born May 30, 1944, in Ridley Park, a son of the late Orris and Rose (Saxfield) Parks.
He grew up in Folcroft, PA and attended Sharon Hill High School. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam with the First Infantry Division of the US Army from 1965 to 1967. When he returned home, he attended automative trade school and completed an electrical apprenticeship with IBEW Local 654. He went on to become an electrical contractor at Rite -Way Electric. He was married to the love of his life, Lucille for 55 years.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille (Duca) Parks; two sons, John Parks, Jr., and Anthony Parks (Susan); grandchildren Hayden and Evan Parks; and a brother, Charles Parks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Owen Parks.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend his viewing from 9-11 AM, on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Cavanagh Family Funeral Homes, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood, where a funeral service will be at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, with full military honors accorded.
