John Pello, 86, of Wallingford, CT, passed away peacefully on Jan. 13, 2026. He was born on March 12, 1939, in Bennington, VT.
In his early years of marriage, John shared life's adventures with his beloved wife, Linda, living in Alaska while serving in the United States Navy. After his service, they settled in Wallingford and raised their family.
John enjoyed bowling, golfing, and watching sports, but above all, he was a devoted family man. He especially cherished traveling-whether to Nashville, Ohio, Missouri, Vermont, or anywhere the annual "Pello Family Reunions" were held. Those gatherings, spent with his siblings and their families, were among the true highlights of his life. John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and nothing brought him greater joy than time with his five grandchildren, who were the pride of his heart. Whether cheering them on, sharing stories, or simply being present, John treasured every moment he spent with them.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda (McLenithan) Pello; his son, William Pello (Dawn); his daughter, Kathleen Pello Ott (Conrad); and his five cherished grandchildren: Benjamin Pello, Greta Pello, Ethan Ott, Jacob Ott, and Lucas Ott. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to Masonic Home Health and Hospice. Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, January 18th from 10 to 1 at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext.
