John was born on July 14, 1943, in Belzoni, Mississippi to the late John David Pope, Sr. and Margaret Pope Sullivan. His memory will forever be treasured by his daughters, Geanne Pope, Eva Pope, and Tracy Alexander (Michael) and sisters, Sherry Ross and Betty Mengel.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Magnolia Park Cemetery, where John will be laid to rest.
