John E. Safar

John E. Safar, aged 76, of Toms River, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 4, 2024, at his residence. Born and raised in Rahway, NJ, John graduated from Rahway High School in 1965. He bravely served his country in the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Navy, demonstrating unwavering dedication and valor. After his honorable discharge, John dedicated over three decades of his life to serving with A-P-A Transport Corp. and Pride Transportation before retiring in 2011.
John had a deep connection to both Rahway and Toms River, where he cultivated lasting relationships and positively influenced the lives of many. These communities held a special place in his heart, and he took great pride in calling them home.
Not only was John a committed veteran and hard worker, but he was also a loving and devoted family man. He shared 53 wonderful years with his wife, Elizabeth, creating a lifetime of cherished memories filled with love and laughter. Together, they navigated life's ups and downs, forming a bond that will endure in the hearts of all who knew them.
John is survived by his beloved wife and their children, Nicole and Johnny, who were the center of his world. His grandchildren, Alexa, Patrick, and Peyton, brought him immense joy and were the light of his life.
John's legacy is marked by his unwavering dedication to his country and family, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. While his presence will be deeply missed, his memory will be forever cherished through the love and precious moments shared with his family.
