Publish in a newspaper

John P. Schnatz Jr., of Cinnaminson, NJ, formerly of the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 8, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, PA to John P. Schnatz and Cecilia (née Dollarton), John lived a life centered around his Catholic faith, family, love, and laughter.
He was the devoted husband of Jane (née Milligan) for 55 years. The two met at his parents' neighborhood grocery store and were married on January 31, 1970. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised four children they were immensely proud of: Phillip Schnatz (Ann), Amy Ra (Mike), Jonathan Schnatz (Angie), and Megan McDevitt (Shane).
John was the proud and loving "Pop-Pop" to Addison, Nate, Alex, Wolfie, Levi, Shay, Kai, J.P., and Michael. He was also the dear brother of Paul Schnatz and Peter Schnatz (Donna), and was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth Kuns. He will be deeply missed by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
John attended St. Michael's Grade School in Philadelphia and was a proud alumnus of Northeast Catholic High School. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from St. Joseph's University. After graduation, John started his sales career at Schmidt's Brewery in Philadelphia. Following 23 years in the beer business, he retired after successful sales career at Keystone Floor Products.
In 1989, John and Jane purchased their beloved shore house in North Wildwood, where he loved to fish, ride his bike, and relax on the beach. Some of his happiest moments were when the entire family would all be together under one roof, filling the house with noise, laughter, and love. John was a member of the Greater Wildwood Elks #1896.
John was a wealth of knowledge, always ready with advice, a good story, or a helping hand. He especially loved working alongside his kids on house projects and sharing in their successes. His warmth, humor, and devotion to family will never be forgotten.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday evening, November 13th, from 6 to 8 pm at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North. An additional gathering will take place on Friday morning, November 14th, from 9:30 – 11 am at Sacred Heart Church, 4th Street and Linden Avenue, Riverton.
