John Raymond Simon, a beloved dentist and cherished father, brother, and son, passed away in Lincoln, MA, on August 3, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. He was 55 years old.
John was born on December 26, 1969, in Chatham, NJ. He attended Chatham Township High School and Loyola College in Baltimore, before earning his doctorate at NYU College of Dentistry. He practiced dentistry in NJ for 20 years before retiring to MA.
John was known for his cheerful personality and his love for storytelling, especially about his fishing trips to Costa Rica. He also enjoyed cooking, writing poetry, and traveling. He made friends everywhere he went and loved to laugh. John will be dearly missed by many.
He is survived by his two children, Christopher Simon of Mendham, NJ, and Abigail Simon of Mendham, NJ. He is also survived by his mother, Elizabeth Simon of Chatham, NJ; his two sisters, Gail Simon of Chatham, MA, and Karen Decker and her husband Robert of Morristown, NJ.
John is also survived by four nieces and nephews: Luke Tetrault of Norwood, MA; Emily Tetrault of Boston, MA; Stephen Decker of New York City; and Meghan Decker of New York City. He was predeceased by his father, Raymond Simon.
The wake will be held at Bradley & Sons Funeral Home in Chatham, NJ, on Wednesday, August 13th, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral will take place on Thursday, August 14th, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Chatham, followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation at 636 Morris Turnpike, Suite 3A, Short Hills, NJ, 07078.
