John Sparks

John Edward Sparks age 53, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at The James Cancer Hospital after a short but courageous battle with colorectal cancer. John loved life and lived it to the fullest. John lived most of his life in Columbus, OH. He attended Holy Name and was a 1989 graduate of Bishop Watterson High School. 

John had a knack for making friends and had a slew of them. These friends were more like family and dated back to grade and high school. He never met a stranger. John was a “jack of all trades” He could do anything and wasn’t afraid of hard work. John was spiritual, a fan of Cleveland, Ohio sports, classical music, and most importantly spending time with those he loved. John was a fan of local politics & wrote many published letters to the editor. He was a foodie that loved to travel around Ohio to visit many of the breweries. 

Survived by his sisters. Theresa (David) Cannon, Sue Meehan and Amy Sparks; nephews, Jeff (Caroline) Cannon, and Matt (Angel) Cannon; great nephews, Price and Bear Cannon. He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel E. and Nancy J. Sparks, whom he loved dearly, brother, David Sparks; and sister, Deborah Sparks.
