Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gorgen-McGinley & Ayers Funeral Home on Dec. 20, 2025.
Mineral Point - John Spaulding passed away at his Mineral Point home on Thursday, December 18 from complications of Parkinson's Disease and COPD.

John was born March 1, 1950 to John and Barbara Spaulding in Detroit, Michigan. When he was a small child he went to live with his grandparents Guy and Ola Mae Swor in Chicago where he resided until he left for the University of Illinois in Champagne. After college John had an adventurous life riding trains and taking a variety of jobs such as tuna fisherman, migrant picker and lumberjack. During this time he enjoyed meeting people and seeing the sites all over the American west. John loved to tell stories of his travels.

When he came back, John married Lynn Vick with whom he had two children. In 1983 he and Lynn were divorced. In 1990 John met the love of his life, Jane Batha. He and Jane were married July 26, 1991 and lived happily in Waukesha for more than 20 years. In 2013, after his retirement from Pro HealthCare, John and Jane moved to Mineral Point, WI where they found a perfect place to complete their journey together.

John is survived by his wife and best friend of over 34 years Jane; his son Gabriel Spaulding (Elizabeth) and his daughter, Rain Dawson, granddaughters Adelaide and Holly, step-son Nicholas Rutzinski and granddaughter Ava Rutzinski.

The family is deeply grateful for the care and assistance provided by the Upland Hills Hospice doctors, nurses and other staff. Thank you

At John's request, there will be no funeral service. The family will honor John's memory privately.
