I´ve loved working with all the residents at Pleasant Valley, but John was truly someone special. He was one of the people I felt closest to-always so kind, always saying "thank you" and "God bless you," and constantly asking how college was going or what my future plans were. He genuinely cared about others and brought such light into every room. The other residents adored him, and he was a favorite in our activities-especially bean bag toss, where his strong arm always stood out.
John inspired me to do well in school, and I´ll always cherish the time we spent working on his book together. He had a gift for storytelling and such a creative imagination-he even included his daughters as characters in his fictional stories, which spoke volumes about how deeply he loved them. He also often talked about his beloved dog, Jigs, with so much affection and joy.
I´m so grateful for the time I had with John. He left a lasting impression on me, and I will carry his memory and the lessons he taught me for the rest of my life.

You were a good man John. I really enjoyed knowing you back in the 80´s and 90´s with First Parish and the Cambodian refugee resettlement program. You were kind and always ready to pitch in to help out. I am sorry we lost track of each other.
