John Vandeveer, 54, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024 at his home. He was born May 3, 1970 in Evansville to Kathleen (Zachritz) Vandeveer and Steve Vandeveer.
John was a 1988 graduate of Harrison High School. He earned his bachelor's degree from University of Southern Indiana and also attended Purdue University. John worked in market and data analytics, as well as, category management for many years. He attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church. In his spare time, John enjoyed volunteering to coach his children's teams in a variety of youth sports. He was an avid collector of many things, ranging from stamps to Hot Wheels to Pokémon cards. John was a lover of dogs and black coffee at all hours of the day. John enjoyed Mopar Muscle Cars and causing a ruckus. He was a loyal and generous friend to anyone who needed his help.
He is survived by his parents, Kathleen Vandeveer and Steve (Sandra) Vandeveer; son, Christian Vandeveer; daughters, Olivia (Jordan) Frederick and Mary Elyse Vandeveer; sister, Marie (Rod) Summers; and grandmother, Corinne (Vandeveer) Smith.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 10 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville. Funeral service will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Bernie Etienne officiating.
Private burial will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport, Indiana.
Memorial Contributions may be made to a mental health fund or charity of your choice or to the family for his daughter, Mary Elyse Vandeveer college fund.
