John Waldon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Funeral Home, Cremation Center & Cemetery on Apr. 27, 2024.
John K. "Kevin" Waldon, 63, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on April 25, 2024. He was born on July 4, 1960 in Evansville, Indiana.
Kevin graduated from Central High School. He went on to work in Management and Ownership in the Hospitality Industry for 50 years. He would rather fish than eat when he was hungry. He found immense joy in having a fish fry with his family and friends. Kevin had a remarkable ability to spread joy wherever he went. He found fulfillment in bringing happiness to others, whether through a kind gesture, a thoughtful word, or a playful joke. He lived by "everybody is somebody." Kevin had a zest for life and lived to the fullest, never losing his youthfulness and enthusiasm. Kevin was strong in his faith in the Lord and read his Bible every day. His legacy of compassion, empathy, and boundless optimism will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
Kevin is survived by his wife Pamela Walden; daughter Heather Hogg, and stepsons Tyler (Samantha) Orange, Zackary (Brianna) Orange; Grandchildren Chance Greer, Jeremiah Greer, Alexus Greer, Maxwell Orange, Maddie Jo Orange, Wade Orange; siblings Cathy Waldon, Tonya Chapman, Sonya Drake, Rhonda Morgan, Eddie Morgan, Dewayne York; brother from another mother William "Mac" McIntyre; close friends Rick Fluty and Ronnie "Bubber" Helfert; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous extended family and friends.
Kevin was preceded in death by his birth mother Sue and parents John H. Walden and Winnie (Sears) Walden; and his best buddy, his dog Harley De Oh Gee Walden.
A special thank you to Heart to Heart Hospice for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at 12:30pm on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home Shepherd Mausoleum.
